Now we all know how people hate on millennials for liking avocado toast, but honestly though, it's f***ing good so who cares what they say.
So here's our way of making avocado toast, but we decided to send it and turn things up a notch with some toasted garlic and of course our Brotaco Foods Avocado Serrano Hot Sauce.
So check it out, here's how we make avocado toast around here!
Ingredients:
Your favorite bread, we prefer a nice slice of sourdough round from the Seattle Baking Co.
4 Cloves of garlic, peeled
Avocado
1 Egg
1/3 cup Milk
Cooking oil, we prefer avocado or extra virgin olive oil
Shredded cheese
Salt & Pepper
Butter
Directions:
Start off by getting your pan ripping hot, I mean smoking! Then reduce heat to medium-high and pour a healthy amount of your cooking oil in and let it heat up.
Gently put in your peeled garlic cloves and lightly toss them in the oil, roasting them until golden brown. Once they have turned golden brown remove them from the pan and let them rest on your cutting board.
Grab your slice of bread and place it in the pan, coating both sides with the garlic infused oil. Toasting both sides evenly until golden brown and crispy.
Remove your bread from the pan to begin prepping.
Take your roasted garlic cloves and crush them with the flat side of your knife repeatedly until you create a thin, garlic paste. Spread this garlic paste across your slice of bread evenly.
Cut your avocado slices and arrange them across the bread, covering the entire slice before using a fork to break up chunks and completely spread the avocado.
This is purely preference but if you wish you can hit it with some fresh cracked pepper and salt right now, or at the very end. It is totally up to you
Now that your toast is ready it's time to make your egg. Take 1 egg and crack it into a cup with 1/3 cup of milk. Whisk well until creamy smooth and fully incorporated together.
Place a slice of butter in the middle of your pan and gently swirl it around until fully melted. Once melted pour your egg mixture directly on top of the butter, allowing it to fully spread.
Gently swirl your egg around the pan, allowing the runny egg mixture to solidify.
Carefully flip the egg over and place a handful of shredded cheese on 1/2 of the egg, folding the other side over to create your omelet.
Now place the omelet on top of your avocado toast
Finish it off with our Avocado Serrano hot sauce to kick that flavor into high gear and add some fresh cracked pepper and salt to taste and your all set!
This is a super easy and quick breakfast recipe to make that is surprisingly filling because of the fats from the avocado and egg.
