Mango Salsa

Chips and salsa is just one of those universally pleasing things in this world. Whether you like it chunky or runny, mild or hot. Pretty much everyone can appreciate snacking on some chips and salsa. Well, here is one salsa that is going to have your brain spinning like burning tires on a starting line.

We’re going to take a classic recipe and put a little sweetness on it to create, Mango Salsa. If you’ve never had mango salsas before it is a beautiful mixture of sweet and spice that will ensnare your senses and leave you clearing bowls of the stuff. This is something that even those that don’t like salsa can appreciate. Just adjust the heat as needed to spice it up, or mellow it out for your personal preference.

What you will need;

  • 1 Mango

  • 1-2 Jalapeños (depending on what heat level you prefer

  • 1/2 Onion

  • 1/2 Sweet Bell Peppers ( I used Hawaiian sweet peppers)

  • 1 Tomato ( I prefer tomato on the vine)

  • 1/2 Limes

  • Handful of Cilantro

  • Salt

Making your Mango Salsa;

Alright so after you have all your ingredients washed and ready to go you're going to start by peeling and cutting your mango into cubes, and placing it in a bowl. Dice up your Jalapeños, onions, sweet peppers, and tomato into small chunks and add them to the bowl. You can cut them into whatever size you wish, I just prefer that they are on the smaller side that way when I dip my chip into the salsa I can get all the flavors at once. Now grab your handful of cilantro and roll it into a loose ball, then dice it up as finely as you prefer. After you’ve put everything into your bowl squeeze half a lime over the top. Put a few twists of some freshly ground sea salt over the top to taste, and then mix it up well. I like to make my mango salsa at least an hour or two before I plan to eat it, that way all the flavors have some time to mix and combine.

This salsa is great for seafood and when you want a little different flavor on your tacos, or just to eat on it’s own with some chips.

Either way, enjoy it however you wish and be sure to comment how it turned out for you!
